Ramblas... coming soon

Finally the new products I created for Vax Barcelona would be released this October. If I were forced to choose among them I don’t know which one to choose although I have to recognize that I’m specially proud of my cooperation with Elisava, the most famous Design in Barcelona.

Finalmente será en octubre cuando podremos ver los nuevos productos que he creado para Vax Barcelona. Si tuviera que elegir alguno de ellos no se realmente con cual me quedaría, aunque he de reconocer que me hace especialmente orgulloso el proyecto para Elisava la universidad de diseño más famosa de Barcelona.

I was asked to create a bag for first year students attending Elisava, my former university. At the start the project was quite complex as Vax’s requirements were really demanding but when I added my own requirements to the project everything became even more difficult.
• As all Vax’s laptop bags it must hold and protect at least a 15,4” laptop
• A DIN A3 folder shall be hold by the bag and this drove us to modify the first requirement: be able to carry up to a 17” laptop.
• It shall have an innovative image and a reasonable cost.

Se me pidió que creara la bolsa para la nueva promoción que inicia sus estudios en Elisava, mi antigua universidad. Inicialmente el proyecto fue bastante complejo ya que los requerimientos de Vax para el proyecto fueron bastante exigentes y se complicó aun más cuando le añadí los míos propios llevando más al límite aquello que se me había pedido.
• Como todas las bolsas Vax para laptops debe poder transportar y proteger un portátil de al menos 15,4”
• Debe poder transportar una carpeta DIN A3, lo que nos llevó a modificar el primer requerimiento: poder transportar un portátil de hasta 17”).
• Debe tener una imagen innovadora y un coste contenido.

My own requirements were...
• The bag must adapt it’s size to the size of it’s current content size in a easy way.
• The bag must not have any superfluous element to avoid wasting the every time more and more limited resources, while it allow us to use a better quality more durable materials as quantities used will be lower.

Mis propios requerimientos fueron...
• La bolsa debe adaptar su tamaño a lo que deseemos transportar en cada momento de forma sencilla.
• La bolsa no debía tener ningún elemento superfluo para no malgastar, los cada vez mas escasos, recursos y utilizar materiales mas resistentes y de mejor calidad al reducir las cantidades empleadas.

After working in different concepts we got the approval with a design in which, in my opinion, i think we managed to put together all these requirements in one product.
And for that we, unfortunately, must a few more days.

Después de trabajar en diferentes conceptos aprobamos un diseño que, en mi opinión personal, reúne todas las características que buscábamos.
Para ello, lamentablemente, habrá que esperar algunos días más.
